What is the Emerald Ash Borer?

The emerald ash borer (EAB) is a highly destructive insect that attacks and kills ash trees. Native to eastern Asia, EAB was first discovered in Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan in 2002. - Canadian Food Inspection Agency, 2010

What can you do to control it?

There is now a product from BioForest Technologies called TreeAzin that can be used to fight the Emerald Ash Borer. It is a systemic insecticide, meaning it enters the tree and moves throughout within 24 hours. We make a number of small injection sites on the tree, the number of sites depends on the diameter of the tree, then insert the injection dosage as recommended by BioForest.

Why is it important to preserve your trees?

- Provide shade and a windbreak reducing energy costs in both summer and winter
